Production History

Soul on Fire truly began in the childhood experiences of Tyrone Stanley. What began as a series of poems to cope with and understand those experiences in a small town in North Carolina, evolved into a story with music that took the sour notes of life and made them melodies that became the songs of Soul On Fire. After receiving a degree from North Carolina A&T where he studied English and Music, Tyrone traveled abroad nationally and internationally performing in large houses like the Sydney Opera, New York City Opera, the Carre Theatre in Holland, and the Apollo Theatre. While performing, he began to further develop the book of Soul On Fire into a script, adapting it for the stage. After years of revisions, Tyrone entered graduate school at the University of Central Oklahoma to study creative writing. It was here that he was challenged to complete the book for the music that had already impacted so many lives over the years. Upon graduating in May 2010, the full project was complete and is now ready for full production.

Soul On Fire is more than just a show. This groundbreaking educational production speaks to the need for breaking the silence in situations of abuse. It will generate open dialogue about rape and other areas of abuse, thereby making the road to healing for those who have experienced a stronger possibility with positive outcomes. This show is limitless in the age range it can potentially reach because of the universal message of love, hope, redemption, and healing. Its age range ideally is 13 and up. It is the story of all races, creeds, and religions. This production has the potential to reach thousands on the state level and millions on the national level.
